Two free Halloween days at the Harvey Centre: a treat bag workshop and Trick or Treat Door on 30 October, face painting on the 31st. No booking needed.
The Harvey Centre is running two free Halloween days in the October half term: a treat bag workshop and a “Trick or Treat Door” on Friday 30 October, and face painting on Saturday 31 October, Halloween itself. Both are free and neither needs booking, the centre says.
What is on, and when
- Friday 30 October, 10am to 3pm: Trick or Treat Bag Decorating Workshop. Children design their own treat bag, then take it to the Trick or Treat Door, where the centre says they can “put their bravery to the test and collect some giveaway treats”.
- Saturday 31 October, 11am to 4pm: Halloween face painting. Children are invited to come in costume and be turned into “creepy creatures, magical monsters and other spooky characters” by the centre’s face painters.
The centre describes the two days as having “something for children of all ages” and as “an entertaining and accessible family day out during the school holidays”. Details are on the Harvey Centre’s event page.
What the centre says
Bryan Young, the Harvey Centre’s centre manager, said:
“Halloween is always a great opportunity to create some fun experiences for our visitors. We’re looking forward to welcoming families to The Harvey Centre over the October half term for two days of free activities, with plenty of opportunities for children to get creative, dress up and enjoy a little Halloween magic.”
What it means for you
- Cost: nothing. Both days are free, and there is nothing to book.
- Timing: Friday runs 10am to 3pm; Saturday starts later, 11am to 4pm. Turn up within those hours.
- Costume: for Saturday, the centre suggests children come dressed up before their face is painted.
- Getting there: the Harvey Centre is in the town centre, CM20 1XR. Our parking in Harlow page lists the car parks and charges.
The Harvey Centre days are one part of a busy week. The town’s free fireworks are the next evening, Sunday 1 November (see Harlow fireworks), and pumpkin patches, scare nights and the rest are on our Harlow Halloween page. School-by-school holiday dates are on the October half term page.
