26 new companies registered a Harlow address from 25 September to 10 October, five of them medical. Plus Ovenden Papers' buyer and an administration notice.
26 new companies registered a Harlow address with Companies House between 25 September and 10 October. Five are medical practice companies. Eleven share the same accountant’s address.
The fortnight’s biggest business news was a sale, not a start-up. Ovenden Papers, the River Way paper wholesaler, was sold to Antalis with all 47 staff, its administrators’ report shows.
This is our fortnightly look at who is starting up and who is closing down, from the official registers only. Company names and the nature of business are as the companies registered them.
Closures and insolvency notices
- Ovenden Papers Limited, River Way: sold out of administration to Antalis Limited for £225,000 on 18 September. Unsecured creditors are not expected to be paid. (Our report)
- A to Z Packaging Ltd, which trades from Unit G1 on Cambridge Road, has been in administration since March. Companies House shows it was called 4 Aces Limited until February. Its administrators are asking creditors to approve their pre-administration costs and fees at a virtual meeting on 15 October at 10am. (The Gazette, notice 5220440; Companies House, 04732882)
Two more notices matched “Harlow” but are not Harlow businesses. Duckpin Arena Limited trades from a Peterborough shopping centre and only uses a Harlow accountant’s address. Harlow Barrington Builders Limited trades from Erith in south east London.
New companies, 25 September to 10 October
A Harlow registered office shows where the paperwork goes, not always where a business trades. Eleven of the 26 use one of two addresses belonging to Aacsl Accountants, at North Westgate House or the Astra Centre on Edinburgh Way. For companies registered at a home, we give only the postcode district.
